What is EFBIC?

The EFBIC is a collaborative project managed by the China National Centre for Biotechnology Development (CNCBD) in cooperation with the European Federation of Biotechnology. It is funded by the European Commission and supported by the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology through CNCBD.

The Mission

The EFBIC aims to establish strategic relations between high level decision makers in Europe and China in the field of biotechnology and biological science. With governemtn, science, industry and public interest organisations EFBIC works to encourage, develop and facilitate cooperative activities in research, training and innovation.

Activities

The main activities of EFBIC are to:

• Organise China-EU Workshops on key topics of mutual scientific and commercial interest.
• Arrange and find exchanges, visits and fellowships for European and Chinese Officials, decision makers, regulators, industrialists and scientists.
• Produce briefings on opportunities for joint scientific and commercial development.
• Establih a website and database on topics relevant to the EFBIC activities.
• Ensure China-EU joint collaboration in FP6
