International Activities - Other : Solid Biofuels



The Institute of Physical Energetics of the Latvian Academy of Sciences was established in 1946 as the Institute of Energetics and Machine-Building. The present name was assigned to it in 1990.

The basic scientific activities are as follows:

• regional energetics analysis and optimization;
• problems of using alternative and non-traditional domestic energy resources;
• elaboration of energy-saving measures for the national economy;
• fundamental research into new materials in solid state physics.

The results of investigations carried out at the Institute are regularly published in the Latvian Journal of Physics and Technical Sciences, published by the Institute since 1964.
