COBIO is a non-profit organisation which was founded in february 1997. Their mission is to create productive links between researchers, research centers, manufacturers, customers, farmers, public bodies and other organisations which deal with biodegradation and waste disposal.

COBIO's members attend French and European standardisation commitee meetings, congresses and are active members of networks involved in the area of biodegradability.

COBIOCOBIO organises bi-annual symposia on biodegradation where both members and non members can present relevant results coming from research, reveal the latest problems encountered in industry or agriculture and also exhibit new materials.

COBIOpromotes new biodegradable materials or new methods on biodegradation and their acceptance by end-users or by industries. A quaterly newsletter is published to strengthen the links between members.
