International Activities - International Energy Agency
ERRMA is a European Association between Industry and Agriculture
to encourage the development of Renewable Resources
by increasing the use, improving the quality and adding
value to agricultural products
for the chemical and energy industries
with benefits for the European energy balance and
environment. It aims to
- promote and develop the market-led use of renewable raw
materials and resources.
- improve the infrastructure for the production and supply of renewable
raw materials and assist in the development of a contractual
framework between agriculture and industry
- advise in the setting up of appropriate regulatory frameworks that
allow
a sustained and balanced approach to:
- the development of non-food crops
-the establishment of raw material quality criteria
-the realisation of potential environmental benefits
- collaborate in establishing innovative research and development
programmes in, for example, plant biotechnology, process
engineering and comprehensive evaluation along products life
chain
- participate in existing information channels and support the
establishment of appropriate networks in order to achieve a
European system for monitoring and forecasting the use of
renewable resources and their contribution to reducing the
greenhouse effect
- coherently disseminate information and know-how at a European
and international level as a contribution to the development of
global policies
- establish contacts with major players in the production, use and
regulation of renewable raw materials world-wide.
- co-ordinate the actions of all European industrial associations in
promoting renewable raw materials.
