Launching FP7 - Conference for Information Multipliers, Brussels, 7-8 February 2007

The proceedings of this conference are available in video streaming format While the sound quality is good the slide shows are not always clear. However, the the speakers presentations are available from the detailed programme and can be used in conjunction with the videos.

Aspects of direct reference to renewable bioproducts are highlighted below.

The purpose of this European Commission conference was to provide participants with complete first-hand information and a series of communication tools regarding the Seventh Framework Programme. These communication tools have been tailored for needs of 'information multipliers' and translated into the 23 official languages of the European Union, in order to support their presentations and FP7 launch events in their own countries, regions and institutions.

Participants received a complete kit of information on the Seventh Framework Programme in 23 languages. This includes a DVD with the official FP7 PowerPoint presentation (60 slides) (320Kb PDF) , a 3-minute animated presentation of FP7, official FP7 logos and posters, and an FP7 leaflet. In addition, more concrete information about the different Specific Programmes of FP7 was made available at various Exhibition stands. These materials are/will be used to create a series of further ITEMs drawing attention to those aspect of particular relevance to the use of biological raw materials for the production of renewable bio-fuels and other bio-materials.

Plenary sessions

These addressed all the main thematic priorities of the Seventh Framework Programme as well as novelties and cross-cutting issues such as the European Research Council, patenting and intellectual property, etc.

Practical sessions

A session on how to participate in the Seventh Framework Programme provided practical guidance.

Exhibition

An EC exhibition provided general information on all aspects of FP7, some of the material collected from these stands has been used to produce additional ITEMs.

Programme - aspects of relewance to Non-Food

Opening and introduction session. This covered the various sections of FP7.

Further sessions provided information on procedures

Specific sessions dealing with areas whre funding for projects related to renewable bioproducts might be found included
