Abstract
The overall objective of the T@W proposal is to undertake thematic promotion of RES-e,
RES heating and cooling and
Poly-generation (Sustainable Energy Technologies, SET)
at emerging Emission Trading Scheme (ETS) markets in EU
and CDM markets in Asia.
The T@W action is highly relevant with the aim of exploiting FP RTD results at
these markets, thereby bringing SET to the
market. Hence; the short title: Technology at Work.
The T@W actions entail 5 work packages:
- WP1 T@W Co-ordination: Entails project co-ordination in line with the FP6 procedures.
- WP2 SET Promotion at EU ETS market: Comprises a thematic approach to promotion
of SET at ETS companies
operating on the ETS. The activities will address RTD aspects, project facilitation and business
concept aspects of the
emerging market.
- WP3 SET Promotion at CDM markets: Entails a parallel thematic approach to
promotion of SET at the CDM markets
under rapid development in Asia. It will address the same themes as under WP2. The main
findings of relevance for
market actors at broad scale will be extracted.
- WP4 Dissemination: Comprises the associated promotional tools for encouraging
sound market operations. Two climate
technology transfer events are planned in connection with CARBON EXPO 2006 and 2007.
- WP5 Evaluation and Strategy: Entails monitoring of the progress of the action and a
comprehensive impact assessment in
its last stage. Further it involves strategies for the further promotion of SET at carbon markets,
including helping export
strategies for European SET suppliers. The SET branch organisations - EUBIA, ESHA and
COGEN Europe - are involved
as partners to undertake SET promotion.
The T@W project has the expected impact of paving the road for SET
uptake on the EU ETS covered companies and in
the Asian CDM field and raising a general awareness of high standard SET/RTD technologies,
thereby facilitating
European companies to comply with their CO2 obligations,
and providing
markets for the SET.
