Since the beginning of 2006, the structure of the European Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology Platform (HFP) has changed and the Implementation Panel is now the only operational Panel. Under the direction of the HFP Advisory Council (AC) and in consultation with the Member State Mirror Group (MG), the Implementation Panel (IP) should develop the HFP Strategic Research Agenda (SRA) and the Deployment strategy (DS) into a set of coherent, integrated and prioritised operational actions addressing the needs for applied research and demonstration in the field of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies for stationary, transport and portable applications. This set of actions will be recommended for implementation through:

• FP7 and its specific programmes (e.g. Cooperation, Ideas, etc) and instruments, specifically the proposed Joint Technology Initiative for Hydrogen and Fuel Cells (JTI),
• other actions (e.g. European programmes such as the Competitiveness and Innovation Programme (CIP, 2007-2013) or the Structural Funds)
• Member States Programmes (including regional programmes) Coordinated Member States Programmes through the ERA-NET HY-CO (including regional programmes)
• and the Industrial RTD&D Investment Plans.
