Abstract

The main objective of this project is to develop a new economical cooling process to remove harmful trace components and water from biogas before it is used in gas engines. On the basis of a preliminary investigation, it is intended to manufacture a pilot plant and to connect it on site of a landfill to a gas engine in operation. An extensive programme of experimental work and research is scheduled to find out the efficiency and the limits of this cooling process in the removal of harmful substances such as halogens and organic silicon compounds.
