Abstract
The INNEUROTEX project addresses a two-fold industrial problem;
- the European textile sector is threatened by de-localisation, and
- SMEs encounter great difficulties in integrating innovation in their development strategy.
There is an urgent need to find new outlets by stressing European assets in areas of high value technology
and qualified competences in research and technology.
The objective of the project is to create a European platform in textile innovation with the aim
of networking European expertise and improving the innovative capacity and competitive performance
of European SMEs, through three main activities:
- competitive intelligence; a new collective approach in treating information to transform
it into an added value for the SMEs through the creation of clubs of industrialists;
- textile incubators; to spot innovating ideas and projects and develop them into competitive activities;
- project engineering; based on transnational partnerships.
The innovative aspects of these activities is to create a European platform in textile innovation through
- creation of an European incubator; creating new companies in textile innovation that will generate
wealth and employment for the EU;
- development of a textile economic intelligence platform using complementary expertise and
to drive intelligence industrial clubs; it consists in developing a textile resource centre which
provides knowledge and competence for the SMEs;
- development of a research platform to build and manage really innovative projects;
- offering enterprises access to research laboratories, which are generally out of the reach of SMEs.
