Abstract

The main objectives are:

  • To demonstrate an updraft, fixed bed gasifier, designed specifically to gasify wood chips;
  • To demonstrate an innovative thermal/catalytic cracking system to clean the raw gas, to make it suitable to fuel gas engines;
  • To demonstrate continuous and stable operation of a 1 MWe gas engine/generator set, fuelled with gas of low calorific value;
  • To demonstrate operational reliability and economic potential, high overall efficiency and low environmental impact;
  • To demonstrate to replicate.
