Abstract
The project intends to develop at pilot plant scale technical grade composites using as raw materials waste cellulose fibres and post-consumer thermoplastics, with not less than 40% w/w of fibre and target properties Stress=60 MPa, E modulus=5 GPa and strain at failure 4%. To validate the results obtained, the composites developed will be used to manufacture a car dashboard that will be tested for fulfilment of standards. In order to achieve these properties, a great effort will be placed in the compatibilisation of the cellulose and polymeric structures at their interphase by innovative methods. The materials developed will be analysed at the end of the project regarding their environmental value and industrial feasibility.
