Abstract:

The objective of the enhance project is to expand the production and use of European oilseeds as biological raw materials in green chemicals and polymers, with enhanced end-use performances of meals and proteins, in versatile markets. Evaluating uses of oilseed protein products in innovative markets (floor coverings, insulation, cosmetics, paper coating), the multidisciplinary approach of the project shows clear market-led and industrial guidance. Considering the whole processing chain (meals and protein processing, innovative protein modifications, end-use performances and market) ensures that economic, social and environmental benefits (naturally based materials, modified proteins for paper industry and cosmetics, improved processing) will meet societal and consumer demands for a more competitive agriculture, sound environmental products and processes.
