Objective:

The long term objective is to raise the awareness of wood energy in such a way that wood energy is considered as a realistic and favourable alternative for heating. The project objective is to explore information dissemination structures by implementing various practices. Based on experiences gained during the project, the plan for promoting and applying the best practice(s) after the project is established.

In the area of small scale wood energy production there is a large number of decision makers. These include the wood fuel suppliers as well as system and equipment manufacturers that are mostly rather small enterprises while end-users are dispersed. Therefore to attain a position as a favourable heat source, a lot of development has to be done in respect of providing an information delivery system and promoting best practice.

The objective of this project is to carry out and explore different practices that might be used to promote the small scale wood energy in the target areas. In addition the project has the following aims:

The project has five phases:

Dissemination during the project will be through the Internet as well as through workshops, study tours and seminars. The participants have already established wide networks of contacts and they will go on with the dissemination of results after the project has finished.
