OBJECTIVE:

The proposed concerted action may be divided into four main tasks:

1. State-of-the-art of European research.

   A document will be made on the present research and development projects under way in Europe, identifying objectives, methodologies used, results so far obtained and a critical appraisal of needs for research or transfer of scientific knowledge. The background will be prepared by all the participants in this action and an executive summary will be prepared by the coordinator.

   This synthesis will be used as a working document for all participants and will give input data for the preparation of the other tasks in this action.

   In addition to the above mentioned information, contact will be established with the nonEC countries also producing cork (Marocco, Algeria and Tunisia) to identify interested institutions and research groups that might be potential participants in future programmes.
