OBJECTIVE:

This prenormative research project will assess, evaluate and improve the deinkability of newsprint and laser printed papers printed with vegetable oil based inks.

The successful outcome to the project will have wide ranging benefits beyond the printing/paper sector, as it will provide market opportunities for agricultural industry to develop a wider range of non-food crops as feedstocks for ink formulations and will prevent the possible development of inks which could be detrimental to the recycling process.
